COVID-19 TEST POSITIVE

On Monday, we woke up with fever, chills, fatigue, and muscle aches. Our teenager son didn’t go to school. Probably just a bad case of flu right? No cough, no difficulty breathing whatsoever. Just fever and chills. Our symptoms continued to worsen the next day. We had severe headache and no appetite and fever rose to 39 degrees.

In the evening, I booked Coronavirus home testing kits from the municipality online. Yesterday morning, a taxi driver brought two test kits. left them outside the door and said he will pick them up after 20 minutes (Healthcare doesn’t arrange tests under 16 years old children). We did our best to take the test properly by wiping the soft tip of 10cm long swab around the back of the throat, then put it in the tube with liquid and left the kits outside of the door.

The next day we received a message that both of us have Positive results. Then came the instructions: we must stay 7 days + 2 symptom-free days = 9 days at home from the first symptom day. No medication is given,  only instruction to use Paracetamol and Ibuprofen for fever and headache. They don’t recommend us to come to the hospital. Instead, they urge us to call directly 112 for an ambulance if the situation at home is unsustainable…

Our current situation (day 7): Son recovered in 3 days. I am still having severe fever, chills, and a terrible headache. Our lady complains about high fever, but I keep comfort her by saying: please try to stand a couple of days more.
